Two calculators and a readiness check
These tools never fetch or quote a live rate. You enter the numbers; the tool shows you the gap.
Conversion margin checker
See the real dollar cost hidden in a quoted exchange rate, whether it's from a trading platform, a bank, or a transfer service.
Assumptions this uses
- You supply both the quoted rate and a reference rate you found independently — this tool never fetches or displays a live market rate.
- The spread/margin percentage entered is applied as a flat reduction against the amount converted, for illustration only.
- This does not include any separate transfer fee, wire fee, or commission a provider may charge on top of the rate margin.
- Actual costs vary by provider, payment method, currency pair, and transfer size.
Limitations: This estimate does not account for fixed transfer fees, minimum transaction charges, delivery speed differences, or how a specific provider structures its pricing. It is a way to see a margin in dollar terms, not a quote.

See what a spread actually costs, with your own numbers
The margin checker below never fetches a live rate — you type in the rate you were quoted and the rate you can find elsewhere, and it shows you the gap in plain dollars. That gap is the cost baked into the quote, whether it's a trading platform or a transfer service.
Provider fee comparison
Compare two providers' fee structures side by side on a common basis — useful whether you're comparing transfer services or account-holding costs.
Assumptions this uses
- Figures are annualized from the monthly fee entered, plus whatever other annual fees you enter, for a like-for-like yearly total.
- This does not include per-transaction fees, spread costs, or any fee not entered directly.
- You supply every figure — nothing is looked up automatically.
Limitations: This does not account for one-time setup fees, minimum balance requirements, or fees that scale with transaction volume rather than being flat. Confirm the full, current fee schedule directly with any provider before deciding.

Get the free guide →Before-you-consider-an-account checklist
A pause-and-think checklist for anyone considering opening any forex-related account, not a green light to proceed.
Assumptions this uses
- This checklist reflects the questions covered across this site's guides — it is not exhaustive and does not replace independent research.
- Completing every item is not a recommendation to open an account; it is a minimum bar for informed decision-making.
- Nothing entered here is saved, sent, or stored anywhere.
Limitations: This checklist cannot verify any broker's actual registration or disclosure for you — you still need to check the NFA's BASIC registry and the broker's own disclosure directly. It is a structure for thinking it through, not a substitute for doing it.
